I have read posts about people finding things near the diaper section in Target etc.So I was wondering about names we aussies give to things
Diapers = nappies
cell phones= mobile phones
fanny = down under it means something that your gyn/ob is familiar with
pacifiers = dummies
vacation=holiday leave
football= in some states it is Aussie rules ,up north it is Rugby League
flip flops = thongs
rudebaker?( sp )= swede
I am sure there are more that others can think of

The one that really got me was fanny. I grew up in Australia and moved to US about 6 yrs ago. When I first heard of a "funny pack" I was totally stunned!   ???   :-\ Then I realised what "fanny" meant. I was relieved to say the least. LOL

lol, thanks for that, I just was reading triivia about the Simpsons, and it said The noise Maggie makes sucking her dummie was made by Matt Groening, I was like  ??? but now that makes sense.

also I work for a major software company and we had to change the  name of one of the tools I use, it was called Bugger, which of course told me when I had new Software bugs to look at and fix, becuse of our friends across the pond where offended. (again apologies to our friends from England and such.)
