New programs or Updates?

I just downloaded some of the items marked NEW.  Are these new programs I have to purchase or updates as my registration codes won't work with them such as PopPhooey and 3-bagger.

To upgrade from an older program you need to send them the registration code for the new program as well as proof of payment for the old one.
