May he rest in peace.  My prayers do go out to his family.  I think it's safe to say that he single-handedly put the Twins on the map, especially after the '87 World Series.

Actually he is 44, he would be 45 on March 14.

EDIT: you are right, he was 45. They claimed he was born 1961 but he was really born 1960.

I just read it too. I remember growing up, I didn't watch baseball and didn't know anyone except for Dodgers players but I've heard of a select few names and Kirby was one of them. Thought he was a great guy wish I had a chance to see him play once. May he rest in peace.
