Yeah it probably helped in my relationship with my parents that I had my head on semi-straight... And that I was mature in some areas... I mean I did lots of stupid stuff... But nothing to ever really hurt my parents relationship with me, and as such we were able to keep things good between us...

I have a 23 year old son that we won't EVEN get into about...At one time he was a Coolio wannabe...I told him his hair wouldn't do that naturally since he was a whie boy...LOL  I kicked him out when he was 18...He decided he didnt want to follow the rules (and I have rules), quit school and ran away from home at 17.  He hasn't been back since and I rarely talk to him.  Someday when he grows up mentally...maybe we can get back what we had at one time...All I can do now is just pray the Good Lord takes care of him... :)

Yeah, that's how my parents were (are still; but I don't live with them anymore, as I'm a big kid living in the world)... And we have one of the best relationships I've seen among myself and my friends... It helped make my life so much easier...  :)

Thanks fatkid...I know my son is not a perfect angel..Parents would have to be pretty stupid to think otherwise...but he's not a momma's boy...I let him take care of his peer business and he knows he can come talk to me about any subject (and has) and get a straight answer.  He's a good kid...and I let him be that...IF he goes astray or decides he wants to try something else...he knows he still has my support...no matter how it turns out... :)

Eh, I smoked a lot of pot during High School... I was never much of a drinker... But I partied all the time... The good Lord just decided to make me too smart for my own good I guess though... I took my ACTs and SATs high... I got into a great college (had to have at least a 3.5 gpa and a 1300 ACT just to be considered)...  Now I'm still hitting that bong every night and getting my degree in computer engineering with plans of attending a masters program, either at Univ. of Chicago or if I can get into MIT... :)  All I'm saying is not to be too worried if your son goes a little stray... He can still find his way pretty easily...

Ok...Topic Revival...I know I go on about my son...but I just cant help it...He is right now at one of two band camps he will be attending this summer and out of the 5 bands formed he placed 1st band, 2nd chair.  At the age of 16 his passion is music and Im damned proud of him.  He makes good grades in school, doesnt drink, smoke pot, do drugs, run with gangs...etc, etc.  Now if those things arent enough to make THIS momma proud then NOTHING ever will.  So no jokes about...This Summer At Band Camp....LOL

;D ;D ;D

The one thing I CAN attest to is that my brother is one of the OD's (Officer of the Day) at this camp every year.  Arkansas Tech University in Russellville is one of the finest.  Im not saying that my child is an angel by any means, and I know I cant protect him forever, just saying that he has a good head on his shoulders and has made many accomplishments in his 16 years on this earth.  Damn Straight Im Proud!!!

Did you ever see American Pie Honey? That movie might give you an idea of what goes on at "Band Camp".

If movies are not real, what is?
