try going to run > type in msconfig > when you get the pop up box under general tab put a check beside "selective startup" and then hit apply > go to the "startup tab" and uncheck processes that DO NOT need to be running all the time and hit apply and reboot.comp manufacturer and operating system would help to know.

check your add/remove programs for strange entries also spyware can download itself and you may find alot of stuff in there to delete

also programs you can download that tweak your settings in your registry i am on cable but use a little program called throttle works for me..

also scan your computer with a good spyware program and find 2 compatible that will work together,i use pestpatrol/spysweeper

If your computer is running slowly, try hitting CTRL-ALT-DEL and sorting the process list by CPU usage (greatest to least).  Some things will be high, such as taskmng (the applet itself) and IE if you're running it.  But if you're seeing stuff like "bargaingetter.exe" or "lhasfjk2.dll" then you might have a problem.  Do a quick google search for the top ones, and if it comes up as ok, don't worry about it.  If it comes up as bad, deal with it.  And if it doesn't come up period it's probably a virus.   The problem with Spybot and all those is they aren't living up to the nature of trojans/spyware.  A lot of them nowadays will spawn little "children" so to speak that rebuild the mother if you destroy the process, or re-enter the startup list if you take it out.  So technically you need to have everything dead to start out, and make sure you get EVERYTHING all at once.  If you miss something, chances are it's gonna put EVERYTHING back.  So my advice, find a nerd, have him/her help you.  Haha.

idk why there's so many they all do the same :-

there are so many because not all are same what one programmer may put at a high priority another one may miss all together. that's why competition is good just like autos :)

Download Adaware or Spybot S&D. Sounds like you might be loaded with malware and spyware. I would run both programs. You can get a free virus scan here http://housecall.trendmicro.com/

You will need to configure ZA to allow access to pogo specifically. ;)
