That didn't work :(
I did what you said, in the order you said to do it. When I changed the difficulty level of the puzzle it ended my game and started over. No pieces in place. It started from scratch again.

That's weird I've tested mine twice and it works fine. Are you sure you have smooth edges turned off?
Disable the smooth edges of screen fonts.
Right click on your Desktop. Select Properties from the menu.
Click on the Appearance tab at the top.
Click on the Effects... button.
Make sure the Use the following method to smooth edges of screen fonts: box is not checked. Click OK.
Click on OK or Apply to finish.

Bugger. I feel better knowing I am not the only one having trouble with Sherlock but if I download and register JD it won't help me get some of my badges as they require puzzles being solved on hard setting.
TSR seems to be the only way to go I guess. :(

Even when 1 left of the orig. three. Is this one you have to babysit?
