Well I know that there was an update that Microsoft did and it messed with a lot of peoples sound. Apple I have something I want you to look at and let me know what it says.

Click "Control Panel"
Click "Sounds, Speech and Audio Devices"
Click "Sounds and Audio Devices"
Click  The " Hardware" tab at the top of the page. Scroll down the list and click on each audio hardware that you have there. See if everything says "Working Properly"

If not let me know which one is not working. I can try and help you.

(on my puter) on the lower right task bar will find icon that looks like a speaker, that is the master volume control. maybe by accident it got muted.  it's happened to me and I never fool with it!
