XP will still work it will no longer have extended support after 2014 according to M$.  You can still keep XP for awhile and it will run.

panic button.gif Oh no I guess I'll have to buy new computer ugh my XP works so good.
I hope they don't phase out XP for at least a few more yrs. My computer runs excellent

I have heard two different dates June 2010 and sometime in 2014. That narrows it down doesn't it?  giggle2.gif

Vista was just not ready for public consumption when they put it out.  The auto's I have been using so far have been running fine on Win7, only ones that I had a problem with was one for Greenback Bayou and ZZ2 but that may have been because I did not tell them to run in compatibility mode which works well for older programs.  I am on a dual boot but may at last give up XP for this one.

Nice to know. I have been burned so bad by Vista that I ended up splitting the computer so I could have XP back on it. I was one of the beta testers for XP and 98 as a handicapped person but knew I was in trouble with Vista when they did not invite any of the handicapped to be beta testers.

Vista is going to be phased out eventually, but a lot of people have it so M$ cannot just cut off support.  I have been using Win7 for 6 months and it is much better than Vista, less nag and very stable.  It is what Vista should have been.  If you are thinking of a new OS I recommend this one, I really hated Vista so got rid of it and stayed with XP, but I like Win7 so much I already did my pre-order.
