Thank you Homer for helping out with the Norton question...teach me to take a day off to work on badges and watch baseball. Happy Moms are good to have around.

As for BH needing to fix a false positive from your AV program, they may be good, but not that good! Berating them because of something they can't control seems like a waste of time in my book. I'd guess the folks at BH have their hands full just trying to keep up to date with the pogo changes and wondering why all the AV programs are screaming virus now? Cnet was a great solution, but got dropped because so many forgot to ask how to use it when they got frustrated.

I'm also not familiar with your AV program, or I'd try to help you. This is a great place to ask for help, and maybe someone here can help? There are no bad questions, only those that want to help you earn a darn badge. Good luck

thx for your help. just tried it with the scanner turned on, wouldnt work, so like you said, i guess i will have to keep it turned off while in use. hoping there is  a fix coming from bh for all  us dedicated customers.

The problem is with your AV program. They have decided to block it and there isn't anything BH can do about that

Do i have to keep it off to use it? or can i turn it back on once installation is done, sorry im not computer savvy

I'm not sure. I'm not familiar with the program you are using. Turn it off until it is installed and then turn it back on. If it still blocks it then you will need to leave it turned off.

Hi Just Don
If you can help me learn how to turn Norton off so I can download from BH, I would be most happy.  elf2.gif

My other computer broke down and I bought another 150 club member package from BH for this computer.
It had McAfee on it and I took that off because it stopped me from downloading.
Had Norton on broken computer and had no problem with downloading from BH.
But now this Norton v5 is blocking and saying it is a virus.
So I do know it is not a virus and read this here and need help in turning Norton off and on again.

Don't just take a look at Norton, I'd tell you to buy. I helped someone here learn how to turn it off if needed, in order to d/l and install an updated BH program.

As for your assumption, I truly don't know. There was a day I could decide to deem a program a "trusted site" with Norton, and yet the d/l still failed? Bad Norton...LOL.

The key is to just turn it off before d/ling and installing. I will never lose sleep by turning off my AV to update a BH program. Total time off, maybe a minute or two. Total time to enjoy earning a badge, priceless.

BTW, Norton will not re-flag a program once you have it installed. Sometimes I actually turn off my computer and finish a badge the next day...unheard of I know? Good luck

I use Norton 360 and have never had a problem, and if I do I tell it to ignore the Badgehelp folder, or any other program that it deems is bad.
