This is the only tip I could find is this :

Tip for level 1 is try to match stripe candies with either swirl or jelly filled candies. That will clear a huge swath of the board at once.

I did but it took a lot of power ups to do. I had the extra gems and some saved up.

I'm stuck on level one. Am I missing something? It really shouldn't be this hard.

I still had 20 to go when I ran out of moves .. and I thought I was doing well.
