For smooth fonts go to control panel, display, in display properties click appearance then click effects uncheck smooth fonts.

i hope this helps.  let me know and we can go from there.
There are no fonts in chess.

thanks for the help, i just fixed it.

i play the games Call of Duty and BattleField 2, which are Direct3D games, and for those games i have AntiAliasing, and Antio/Filtering on.  And Direct3D also works with the Desktop Screen, i just turned the settings back to default, and it seemed to work for me.

ok.  i get the same kind of problem.  for starters disable your smooth fonts.  what i find that works for me with the white screen is closing everything out,  clearing my cache, and rebooting the computer.  because if my cache is not cleaned out it will cause everything to run slow, and not rebooting computer for a while will cause things not to load or run right.  dont know why this is but it is.  hope that helps some.

i posted this question at the pogo tech support site, 3 days ago, and got no answer, so i hope i can get some help here.

whenever i load into a game room (chess for example) the game seems to load fine, and everything is ok.  but when i open a window that opens up over the Pogo Game's window, the Pogo Window turns completely white, and will not come back to normal for awhile.  i have included a screenshot so you can see what my screen looks like.
