Second, I understand if you bought an auto that "phones home" ...the ones Bob made that always checked for any updates. He stated in some threads to block it from internet access for ppl in countries I believe. I always block any auto from that and if they won't run it means something is going on...lol. But they say that these are updates to "old" autos and even the names are different, so why would anyone delete a working program in hopes of getting a better one without testing it first? It just seems to me that everyone should always keep the old auto and rename it b4 they download the update for it...that way you always have a fail safe plan to fall back on. If the new one doesn't work, delete it and use the old one you renamed. That is how I do it.

and tell me why I should have to go to all of that trouble? I didn't have to when I bought them and probably wouldn't have bought them after the trial expired. I have a lot of them and that is a pain in the you know what. Plus how do I know that they will work right? Not like we get another trial to test the update for the ones we already bought. and............... i liked Barbara, she was funny and helpful. So many are gone, it's not the same. Can't see why adults can't kiss and makeup and make this a fun forum again. :'( :'( :'(
you should not have to go thru all of the trouble of doing :) like you have stated before you bought some autos you liked you should not have to update it why fix it if its not broken ?

There was a post in here that explained how to get around that. It only installs it on 2 places in your start menu and a desktop icon. This is what normal software companies do.
Normal companies usually give you a choice, and they don't re-create themselves after you delete the unwanted shortcuts.
Thank you. Exactly!!!! I feel like these things are taking over my computer. Tempted to delete them all. Have my computer tech clean up my computers and forget autos. It was a fun ride that is no longer fun. Now it's tiresome and invasive. >:(

- November 07, 2005, 08:10:59 PMI did read your post very carefully and I was just making a comment in general also, I just wanted to address the "crabby" part of it and that people have a right to be crabby if they chose and have good reason to be. For those that are happy campers (and I'm not saying I'm not) good for you- just let those others have free speech also. Thats all I'm saying- I'm not trying to cause trouble at all- I really wouldn't want to add to the pain that has been caused here and the many hurt feeling. Just my own observation - thats all. I've learned alot here too and love the people here enough to let them vent if they need to without criticizing.

Alot of posts have been deleted so that what is going on will not be clear to all, so please do not assume those that are posting their displeasure are being rude - you don't know the facts of what is going on or what has gone on and will probably never get the full story- just small sides of it. So just move on- let those who need to post - post without judgement and if you are very happy with the autos - then count your blessing and go earn badges, for those who arent- if they paid good money- they are entitled to their opinions without having remarks made.

If you arent happy DONT buy them, if you bought it and something happened isnt there a rufund policy? Or even trade??? This site is great and you all work very hard and i give ya a O0. I have learned alot about not only people but computers and how they work and where to find certain spec's on the computer to help it run better. But, if your going to be cruel, rude and inconsiderate you could at lest e-mail or pm the person you are having differences with instead or posting rude comments on the forum ( not saying anyone did) Sorry for putting my nose where it doesnt belong! Happy badge hunting and i hope everyone can work out their differences and get along. Sorry to see some old times go.
