They were real simple huh?  Sometimes I wish they were a bit more challenging, but if they were any harder there would be more complaints than praises.   :-\

I want to see a challenge that I am pushing Tuesday hard to get it done - that would be more exciting I think than trying to get that darn rabbit in a hole for tokens.  We always have the badges done in a few hours.  I think they should be more like the badge album challenges and the albums even harder, but hey that's just me.  I love a challenge! I'm with Caroline and SouthPadreIsland.  If they aren't going to be challenging, don't call them challenges any more.  Call them simples.

Personally, I like challenges that take a long time.  Although, then I end up working on them when I'm supposed to be working.  oops.  lol

i rather just get the badge fast and work on other stuff instead of it taking hours just for one challenge  :P

My guess would be that now that you're done and having badge withdrawls. Pogo expects you to buy the new premium badge book.

Yes they were easy, but if they would have been hard everyone would be complaining that the challenges are to difficult to play.   :)) :)) :)) j/k

I see a lot of people who say the challenges aren't a challenge, not just here this week, but in the past.. and I see a ton of people who admit to using the autos to get the challenge badges for them, or use one of the "shortcuts" to get their badge, like resigining games right away to get credit.. so obviously they are going to be easy on you. Now are these some of the same people who want them to be challenging? I would bet there's at least some people who do both, complain and yet don't always play everything out on their own all the time. So if there's a game that you aren't good at, or don't know about or ever play much, something like Chess or Checkers, or Euchre or Spades.. and Pogo makes a challenge in one of those games, for people who want it to be challenging, shouldn't the obvious thing to do is to actually play the game the way it's meant to be played (learn along the way if you have to), and try to get the badges that way? Wouldn't that then be a real challenge? If you hate checkers, and decide to just go in and double browse and resign, then yeah, you're not gonna be challenged.. but then if you do that, you shouldn't complain about them being easy just because you found a way to get it done in 2 minutes. Not saying anyone here is this way.. but just in case there is. Are they gonna have to do something really drastic to get you to be challenged.. like catch 300 fireflies in Greenback Bayou?? I could put in a request for ya if you'd like!  >:D

Not me.  I play all my challenges the legit way.  In fact, if the game has a difficulty rating, I always like to play on the hardest too.  But maybe I'm just a masochist!  lol.  Actually, as much as I enjoy the challenges being hard, sometimes I wish they were easier so that I didn't have to listen to people whine about how hard they are the whole time  :P

Tumble bees will be a challenge!!  I have a hard time with that game, and I refuse to let myself play on anything other than hard, so it takes me forever to even get a jackpot spin!!  So, I'm excited for the challenge!  A nice level of difficulty, but not insane.  Thats good in my books!  :D

Okay .. truth .. I had a heckuva time winning 3 checkers games in a row. And I didnt do it by resigning .. I didnt double browse. I did it the "old fashioned" way (Lotsa cussing and walking away)

I love TumbleBees, but the wording of the challenge .. I really dislike having to count on an amount of tokens to get a badge - its left so much up to chance. I can get a jp spin on any level in that game (It was what I played before I went Club) - but grrrr @ needing a certain amount of tokies on the spin.
Title: Re: badges
Post by: jakethesnake on February 23, 2006, 10:31:29 AM
Yeah, I'll agree with that.  There is nothing worse than working your butt off to get a JP spin, only to win 30 tokies and not get the credit.  I didn't work for all that just to get a chance to earn some credit.  Oh well.  What are you gonna do, eh?
Title: Re: badges
Post by: PogoCrazyMomma on February 23, 2006, 03:25:05 PM
Well wonderland was easy for me but I can't get checkers for the life of me. Some challenges are very easy for some players and some are very hard to others.  I absolutely cannot win a euchre game or spades, and checkers is very hard for me to win (among others) but others are a breeze, so I think they take into consideration all the players like me who don't find all the games easy. Goodness I wouldn't ever want to think about having to catch 300 Fireflys in GB?!?! Please don't speak of such a horror again  :o  that game is just awful!!!!!  :)) the pogo spies may see that and get bad ideas  :))
Title: Re: badges
Post by: RC on February 24, 2006, 12:08:14 AM
I do agree with the spins thing.. what, Pogo can't come up with any other thing for you to need to get in a challenge than a certain amount on a spinner? I say if they can't come up with something game related, something you get by playing the game, whether it be a certain number of something like balloons, seafood, words, tokens, etc.. something you have control over and know what it takes to get the challenge.. and not some stupid random spinner giving you a specific amount.. then just don't even make a challenge in that game in the first place and do something a little more practical.

does anyone know of an easy way to win the badge in hearts where you have to
win 30, 100 games.  this will take forever.  it's from the 2003 challenges.

Both were easy and I too do it the legit way (I don't use autos--won't pay for them).  I guess it helps, though, when both of the games are ones you've enjoyed in the past.  In fact Tumble Bees is one that I've gotten most of the badges for already...or at least when they opened it up to finishing old badges.
Title: Re: badges

I play challenges without autos. I only use autos for rank badges when I get tired of tedious games. They are too easy though. But so many people go into hissy fit mode and complain thier pants off when they are hard (remember that stellar sweeper win 100 perfect games incident?) I like the harder ones...even if it is to catch so many flies in greenback...at least its something to do during downtime rather than these new ones that take like 10 minutes to finish.

eeewww...but greenback?  Yuk.  I am so happy I am done with '03 and '04's challenges...it seemed like every other one was greenback.  That game takes absolutely no skill...its just pure luck.  Ride the Tide is another one, but at least there is some sort of strategy to it...plus it makes a fantastic drinking game... ;)

The harder challanges are better.  I've been get my challenges done on Wed nights because they've been easy lately.  I also think though, that making the challenges like this weeks Tumble Bees, where you have to rely on that stupid JP spinner is horrible!  Make me play 100 games or something......but to have to rely on getting 40 and over tokens when the damn thing only gives out 30 is just wrong lol

Haha I was playing Tumble Bees for my badge on Wednesday and some person said 'I noticed that you get 40 tokens or more when you get to  the bonus round.' Uh don't you have to get to the bonus round to get any spin?!?
