for all the parents with little ones- instead of a boring cake you have to decorate they these- so much fun- less messy and kids think your cool")
You will need:
1 (18.25 ounce) box yellow cake mix
Frosting
Sprinkles or other decorations of your choice
Directions:
Prepare cake mix batter according to directions, or make any standard cake recipe batter (i.e. white, chocolate, etc.)
Place flat-bottomed ice cream cones in the cups of a regular muffin pan.Pour enough batter into each cone to fill from 1/2 to 2/3 full.
Bake at time and temperature as recommended for cupcakes. After they have cooled, frost with your favorite canned or home-prepared frosting recipe.
Decorate with sprinkles or other decorations of your choice
I would of never thought you could put ice cream cones in the oven...what a great idea for the little ones...although Im sure some big ones around here like it to O0
sounds good to me going to try it thanks he.gif
Ive made these .. they really are that easy!!! Kids absolutely love em! I did learn the hard way tho - not to try to use food coloring to dye the frosting ... sent a buncha kids home from kindergarten with green faces =\
I've been wanting to make these for a long time now. Maybe this weekend I can try em, lol. Thanks for posting the recipe & reminding me about em. I know the kids will love em! Also the big kids too! :)) ee4.gif
you are all vvw ee2.1.gif
I've made these 2x in the last couple weeks. Once was for a bake sale for my grand daughters honor society club at her high school. She took 36 of these in & they all sold! Just proves that older kids like em as much as the little 1's. :)
Those sound yummy!! I was looking for where you added the ice cream though, lol.
This is my goal for tomorrow... I've been counting down the days since Monday when I purchased all the ingredients.
We are making these again next weekend & gonna decorate em up for Easter. ee4.gif
They sounds so good!
But one question, how do you get the darn things to stay standing up in the muffin tin. I know you use flat bottom cones but what about carrying them to the oven? I've had dreams of making these and they all tip over all over the place so I just ate the icing and said to heck with it. :))

If you use flat bottom cones, they will sit nicely in the muffin pan. It wont be a tight fit, a little wiggle - but as long as you walk normally ( No drinking lots first) they'll do fine. I do think theyre a little tough to transport iced - so when I have made them for kindergarten classes, I frost them in the classroom.
sounds like fun to make just dont drink and make at the same time :))
