Double browsing should make it fairly easy then if you have the options set to your advantage.
For the most part, this is like Pinochle where getting certain cards (in this case, spades) will advance you in rank. This does indeed (as Helen said) have double browsing all over it!

It tells you after the game is finished....Ive played 2 1000 matchs and I am at rank 2...I was going to double browse but if its just spades being counted who cares who wins or anything right? Im just there for the badge but I do like the game...I have my other name just watching the seat across from me and I was using it to help me make my bid and then on last hand I would just sit my other name down so they get credit for the spades....They get credit for it even if they just sit at the end...Am I making any sense? I found it under "How To Play" it says:
Ranks
There are 50 ranks that represent your progress in the game. You will make progress towards your next rank for each Spade dealt to your hand at the beginning of each round.
You will be awarded a special badge when you reach ranks 10, 20, 30, 40, and 50.
But, I haven't found yet where you can see how many spades you need to next rank. I did like the one above, play 1,000 pt. game and gained new rank after each (3 so far).
I like the new look but don't like how it doesn't tell you what rank you are or how many spades you need til next rank. It doesn't even tell you what rank you are in your profile.
If you click just below your name, it'll say at the bottom of the table what rank you are --- for example I am rank Zero (Cracker)
It is the number of spades dealt to you each hand to go up in ranks

I agree Jinx i would like to eventually see badges and ranks added to Gin also. For months that is all i Played. Another game i would like to see it happen to (AND PLEASE NO ONE SHOOT ME) is Euchre. I know alot of people don't like the game but I love it.
i play a lot of league games and most of the games never get to 250-500 before the match is done (usually 3-4 hands) do you still get credit for those spades or are they lost and you need to finsh game to get the credit
Regardless if you win or lose, as long as you finish the game, you'll get credit for the spades in your hand at the start of each round.
seems cant play in some ladder games then.... since one of my ladders never gets to 250 pts before the round is over..

I'm having a blast. I grew up playing Spades & Hearts so this is a piece of cake. Speeding thru the ranks like I'm the human auto (swear I've used that line before).
I tried speeding thru the ranks .... Finger @ Cripes!
But its okay. Im stubborn, Im determined, and I will get at least the first badge without an auto :))
Looks like it takes 50 spades dealt to you to move each rank ... at least in the lower ranks.
You can even play practice with robots and get credit toward your ranks.
The best I could tell it was 500 to rank 10 where you get your first badge
Well it's kinda like Pincohle (sp?) in the sense you just make sure you start a game with the number of spades that will get you off to a good start. Makes no sense sitting down and the 1st hand given to you has only 1 or 2 spades in it. Stand up and start a new game! l1.gif

just went to BH site there doing it now that what the site said so will not be long ya can run auto at night im at rank 4 i play the 1000 game to get more spades that way just have to keep checking main page at BH then will be ready for it

I have another question too...with misdeals checked...do we get credit for the spades that were misdealt?
If i have a ton of spades and it asks me if i wanna declare a misdeal, should I? Will those count plus the ones in the new hand?
all spades dealt are counted including the 2s if you have it set to use them as trump

lol, yes it has been posted. Little button up top called "SEARCH" will help you in finding out things like that so we don't have to tell you to use the "SEARCH" button.
i just got to rank 11, i was on rank 2 when I came on here and read to use the 2s and use the misdeals and stuff and my ranks have definatly do go alot faster. im going to try to go for rank 20 but im sure ill need a break before that haha.

***3/4/06 update*** SpadeMaid 2.8 has been released. It is the smart version and plays well. Please email me if it hangs up with screenshots. PlayedSpade will be back also in a few days. Since it needs to keep track of which cards have been played, it will revert to the "dumb" version if you start it after bidding. For best results start the Agent before bidding, because if the Agent doesn't choose the bid itself, it won't even try to play smart until the next round. It will go back to playing smart as soon as it is allowed to bid.

SpadeMaid is working but you can't have "pass a card" or misdeals as part of your options as of yet. That part is still being worked on.

It does it occasionally, if you get enough spades to skip a rank ... I went from 14 - 18 because of misdeals.

i'm at rank 46 and should finsh this game by tomorrow. it has been fun. i played by hand quite a few days, but the autos really run through this game. i am really trying to finish tis before any more games come out on tuesday. i would like to get that darn lottso finished again. i am at rank 70 on that one.

i tried playing now and no lagging for me either.although seeing the game did make me very sleepy. :))
aol and ie both lag for me but firefox works great
i dont think it is lagging the game is just slow with the cards moving i have no lagging but i can tell that the cards are alittle bit slow moving i just it is the way they design it
Probably everyone know but thought I would share the info. The ranks is spades are going by the number of spade you're dealt. So you can just stand and sit and collect spades that way. Easy way to rank up. You don't even have to bid or pass cards etc. Just stand and sit. You can also under the advanced options click all 4 of the missdeal boxes and get freebie spades that way too. They probably will be fixing it soon but thought I'd share. You don't have to play the hand out to collect spades but every now and then I do a 250 point game to see where I'm at. In case cripes comes up. GL everyone. O0

OK I am trying this now but it doesn't tell me progress towards ranks/badges. I asked in the lobby and someone said you have to finish the game. So does standing/sitting work or not? Thanks.

Ok, went back played one 250 game got rank 21. Did the stand/sit until I counted 100 spades. Played one 250 point game and got rank 22. Seems to work. Now if we knew how many spades were between ranks!
O0 WOW!!! Does it work great. I was on rank 9....did the stand and sit for about 10 minutes then played it out......finished the game and saw I jumped up to rank 11...thought ok...cool seems to work...lets try this again......did it again for about 10 minutes then played out my second game.....it then jumped me up from rank 11 to rank 15!! Great little tip!! :-*

Yes it does work if you are in a private room. I've played ever one of my games in a private room. Ranks are 1-20 you need 50 per level, 20-25 you need 100 per level, 25-30 you need 250 per level, 30-35 you need 500 per level, 35-40 you need 750, 40-45 you need 1000 per level and the last 5 levels I think you need 2000, not sure on 45-50. It will keep counting your progress, even if you take a break for a while. Also if you need say 250 for that level and you go over and get 275, 25 will go towards the next ranks totals. You'll see, try it out. With pogo shuting down tomorrow morning they may fix it then so I'm trying to finish today ::) ;D

Yes, pretty simple but you must finish at least a game to get credit for all those "sit, stand, sit, stand, sit, stand" otherwise you're wasting your time. After you sit and stand a few times, play a 250 game and you'll get credit. Then you do the sit, stand thing a few more times, finish another game and you'll get all those credit. Rinse, Repeat

Just make a table and stand up and sit down as many times as you want. Then every now and then play a 250 point game to see what your progress is.
I just stand up and sit down and use a calculator to see how many spades I should be at. Then I play a 250-point game to make sure it's counting them. So far so good.

LoL, I tried the same thing. Counted a total of 88 spades when I need 95 to get next rank... came out perfectly!
I don't even think you need to play a game. I just do a few hundred spades at a time then play a game, lol. I just play the game to make sure it's still counting them and that I'm not just wasting time. Also to check my progress to next rank. It's working great for me.

I'm playing my girlfriend's name now since I finished this game early this morning... speeding thru the ranks and I'm still checking progress... man if I knew about this I would have finished MY name last Thursday!
I just went from rank 2 to rank 13 in less than an hour. Whoooo Hoooo!
Hopefully it lasts a couple of days. I don't want all the badges showing as won on the same day.

It's starts to take a lot longer when you get up to 30's and 40's. After you complete a game it will tell you in the popup how many spades you need until next rank.

Yes they do. So do the misdeals too. So make sure you have those boxes checked. It will make it go a little faster.
I don't really consider it a glitch as you're not doing anything special other than not leaving your table. You still have to play the game and it says in the rules that it will give you credit for spades dealt to you. It was just a unique way at translating the rules to work in our favor.

I got to Rank 26 on my own ane then started this glitch thing this afternoon ...it works but it does get boring sittin and standin over and over....but hey its easy...I got to 31 but thats all I am going to do.

ok whats this glitch thing that lets you move up the ranks faster i stood up and so did the dogs and games started over :(
You click on Stand up--- then it will say are you sure you want to stand up click YES---then click on SIT---then click on START GAME and keep doing it over and over. You will not see your rank change till you either completely play a game Thur or leave the table and come back.

What? You guys didn't know about that sit/stand glitch?
After they did the same thing with Pinochle the first week it was out, that was the first thing I tried. The first time I tried it, I sit/stood for about 30 minutes and went from rank 2 to 12.
By the time I got to the higher ranks - 40-50, I'd go about an hour before I would play a game. Made about 700 to 800 spades an hour.
Probably doesn't look good that I got the first three badges on the first day, but then it was two days later for the fourth and 3 days for the fifth.

Play out a game, it'll update rank.
It's still working for me, i use sun java.
I tried to leave the table and go to another but did not rank up. When I played a game I did. I do not think it matters what Java you use. Although I have both installed.

You have to complete a game and it will tell you how many spades you need to next ranks. The tricks in your profile are just how many tricks you have taken in the games so they mean nothing.

I played the game out like you said. When I finished all it said was you are now rank 7. it didn't tell me how many spades I needed to the next rank. Would I assume that I need 50 then?
Yeah it is 50 spades to next rank through rank 10 I believe. Try doing another game and see if it shows it. Sometimes when I'm close to my next rank and play a game all it says is what rank I am so I just play another game and then it shows how many I need.

You can tell because it's not really a glitch (someone kindly pointed that out to me earlier) It says you will get credit for the spades you're dealt even if you leave a game without finishing. 8)

then start the game-before you bid stand up and sit down, what until bid comes up stand up and sit down keep doing this until you are tired then play a round, start over again- i have gone from rank 0 to 13 today.

I hope it was just bad luck but made it to rank 20 in about an hour and half took a break came back to spades played 4 1000 point games with only 1 misdeal and it was my own was dealt 1 spade.All of misdeal are checked game was lagging a lil and then shut down just wondering if the fixed it

just repeatedly stand and sit until you get bored then finish out a game. Really dont believe its a true glitch, just dont figure Pogo would thinkwe would all be willing to bounce up and down on the furniture for badges.

My game froze earlier and I log out and come back in. I was worried I lost all my spades. To my surprise ... Pogo gave me credit for them. When I started sitting & standing I needed 188 spades to get to the next rank, I signed back on I had the new rank.

used to be two hundred,then five hundred.now its a thousand before i play.
the auto is good but the game only has a 1000 score on it so i have to play game again to the takes long but better then setting here and getting bored with the sit and stand sometime i do it that way but better play the use auto breaks it up some

OK I'm sorry but I still don't see where ya'll see how many spades till next rank........durning the game when I click my little rank picture it tells me what rank I'm on...at the end of the game it just shows rank again......where do you guys find out how many till next rank?
It will only tell you how many if you play a game all the way out, and only then if you don't move up in rank. if you move up in rank that is the only message you get. seems like they could tell you both but they don't. >:D

i see that if I have the show hints button marked, every so often at the botton of the screen under your cards it will tell you how many more spades you need to next rank
ok i look where is the show hint buttom i didnt see in options
its called show tips its toward the top near the thing you select to play a 250 500 or 1000 point game

The show tips wont work at all while your using the Glitch. Only when you play the game out.

im just made rank 44 chocolate dipped strawberry yum lol but it doesnt take me long to go through them its just boring it doesnt matter what your setting are im not passing or cutting i just deal and stand deal and stand and i got booted from the game the other day after i had racked up about 250 and it gave me credit for them.
but im getting about anywhere from 100-150 spades in less than 10 minutes so i can make rank with in an hour or less usually less so far about 15 minutes to get 300 or so

yeap this game has bugs in it tooo... i lost around 100 spades the first week it came out when i play a 1000 pt game and the game shut itself.... that is why i stick to 250 pt games.... just shows that POGO has yet to put out a single game this year with out bugs

Uhm, Spades 2 is just the Spades with badges now. Any game being revamped has a '2' after it because it's just the one they test, then they swap it out with the original.

I almost always win when I set it at 250 and play bots. The bummer about this is that it's not giving credit for all the points won, only for 250. For example, I won with 313 points and it only gave me 250. I don't know if it is doing the same thing at 500, I can't win at 500 to find out.
And I agree with the other poster who says that the "rank accelerator" doesn't win - though it does play well.

I usually play 250 pt games, but Pogo was not giving me credit for any points over 250. I changed to 500 and they gave me 500 (nothing more). I really enjoy spades and play with the beginner bots usually. They are easily beaten..I also bid nil when I can which makes the game go faster.
