What's wrong with the people who buy it? I buy it. I keep both Kahlúa and Baileys as a staple in my liquor cabinet.
The best is a Kahlúa cream soda. It's perfect as an after dinner drink:
2 parts Kahlúa
1.5 parts whipping cream
4 parts soda water
Pour Kahlúa and whipping cream into a cocktail mixer and shake thoroughly.
Strain mixture into a tall glass and then add soda water.
Best consumed with a straw!

Thanks for the drink idea Lib. I like just about anything to drink that has Kahlua in it.
nothings wrong with the people who buy it.its just that some go thru it fast and its pricey.

1/4 cup banana liquor
1/4 cup coffee brandy

That sounds really good too. Would it be OK without the coffee brandy as I don't like coffee? Or is that what gives it such a good flavor for you?
ok here's the recipe for bailey's
1 cup light cream
1 can Eagle sweetened condensed milk 14 oz.
1 - 2/3 cups Irish Whiskey
1 teaspoon instant coffee
2tablespoons hersey's chocolate syrup
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon almond extract
combine all ingredients in a blender and set on high speed for 30 seconds. bottle in tightly sealed container and refrigerate. will keep for at least 2 months if keeped cool. shake well before serving O0
here is the Kahlua recipe
1 lb dark brown sugar
1-1/2 cup sugar
2-2/3 cup water
bring to rapid boil 5 minutes. cool slightly add 1/2 cup instant coffee
add 1 quart vodka & 1 tablespoon pure vanilla extract mix well- store minimum of 2 weeks before use O0
the coffee brandy is what gives it the extra flavor to me ;)

The recipe is interesting but if a bottle of vodka is $15 and a bottle of kahlua is $15 why make your own? Seems to me making it would be more expensive than buying it. Not to mention a pain in the butt. :))

~~~ Kiwi Martini ~~~
I like martinis that use fresh fruit so I put together this Kiwi Martini.
Always use the best vodka you can get you hands on... you'll thank me later! Enjoy!
1 1/2 fluid ounces premium vodka
1 dash sugar syrup
1 fresh kiwi fruit
1. Muddle a peeled kiwi fruit with the sugar syrup in the bottom of the shaker.
2. Add vodka and ice then shake and strain into a frozen martini glass.
3. Garnish with a slice of kiwi.
Glad you liked it. Its one of my secret drink recipes. Enjoy
Here's a good shot drink that tastes awesome and looks very impressive when done right.
It's called a Jager-Schlager. Yes, half Jagermeister and half Goldschlager. If you pour it properly, you get a nice two-layered shot. (Both must be very chilled for it to layer properly too..)
First pour the Jager in each shot glass, filling halfway, then follow it with the Goldschlager very slowly to fill the shot glasses. Wait about 3 seconds, and you will have a beautiful, yummy, spicy, sweet shot!
sounds good :)
i dunno if itll match the water recipe tho :))
ROFL, I'm not one of those people who feel the need to post a hundred new topics or reply to one million different posts to get my numbers up. I actually start very few new topics. The million posts don't mean anything if you take the time to read some of those posts and see that person actually had nothing to add other than "yeah, go that way" or repeat something that already been said. <whispers> I think this thread was made to just get your posts up. So I will join right on in with them ;)
ROFL, I'm not one of those people who feel the need to post a hundred new topics or reply to one million different posts to get my numbers up. I actually start very few new topics. The million posts don't mean anything if you take the time to read some of those posts and see that person actually had nothing to add other than "yeah, go that way" or repeat something that already been said. It's a waste of time, IMO.
Oh zip it... I wasn't actutally talking about the post itself... I love making new posts...I should of said posters in this post. Would of been easier to say buy 5 bottles of liquor and mix them up ...Yummy !!!
1 Bottle of Dasani water
Unscrew the lid and drink Yummy :P
OLD FASHIONED ROOT BEER
Use strong bottles with patent stoppers or tie corks in securely. Use a stone crock or granite vessell in which to let drinks stand while 'working.' Fresh roots from the woods are always preferable to dried herbs. Select a cool place in which to store the drinks; the longer they stand in a warm place after bottling, the more effervescent they will become! When filling bottles, fill to within an inch of the top.
1 cake compressed yeast
5 pounds sugar
2 ounces Sassafras root
2 ounces Juniper Berries
1 ounce Hops or Ginger Root
1 ounce Dandelion root
2 ounces Wintergreen
4 gallons water
Wash roots well in cold water. Add juniper berries (crushed) and hops. Pour 8 quarts boiling water over root mixture and boil slowly 20 minutes. Strain through flannel bag. Add sugar and remaining 8 quarts water. Allow to stand until lukewarm. Dissolve yeast in a little cool water. Add to root liquid. Stir well. Let settle then strain again and bottle. Cork tightly. Keep in a warm room 5 to 6 hours, then store in a cool place. Put on ice as required for use.
oh my i meant a drink that didnt look are sound good going to go and change it
here are some virgin drinks, lol
Virgin Strawberry Daiquiri
The perfect drink for a hot summer day, a virgin daiquiri (strawberry or whatever fruit suits your fancy) is tangy and thirst-quenching. Plus, because it's fruit-flavored and blended, you're less likely to notice the missing alcohol. Go for fresh strawberries over frozen; the flavor will be much better.
Ingredients:
1 ounce fresh lime juice
3 ounces frozen strawberries in syrup (or fresh, if available)
1 teaspoon sugar
Cracked ice
Preparation:
Fill a blender with cracked ice. Add lime juice, strawberries, and sugar. Blend until smooth, then pour into a chilled glass. Garnish with an extra strawberry (if you have one) or an orange slice.
Piña Colada
Although pineapple isn't technically part of the citrus family, its juice, like that of the orange, lime, or lemon, can be quite tart. For a sweeter, less tangy drink, use pineapple canned in syrup rather than its own juice.
Ingredients:
2 ounces coconut milk
1½ ounces crushed pineapple
1 ounce pineapple juice
1/4 cup crushed ice
Brown sugar to taste (no more than one tablespoon)
Preparation:
Put all the ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth (about 30 seconds). Pour into chilled glass. Garnish with an orange slice, a pineapple wedge, or a maraschino cherry.
Non-alcoholic Champagne
Ingredients:
2/3 cup sugar
2/3 cup water
1 cup grapefruit juice
1/2 cup orange juice
3 tablespoons grenadine syrup
28 ounces chilled ginger ale (about 2 1/3 soda cans)
Combine sugar and water in a saucepan over low heat. Stir until sugar is dissolved. Bring to boil and boil ten minutes. Cool. Add sugar syrup to grapefruit and orange juices. Chill thoroughly. Add grenadine and ginger ale just before serving. Makes about 1½ quarts.
Ingredients:
1 1/2 oz. Vodka
3 oz. Tomato Juice
1 dash Lemon Juice
1/2 tsp Worcestershire Sauce
2-3 drops Tabasco Sauce
Salt and pepper to taste
Procedure:
Shake with ice and strain over ice into bucket glass. Garnish with an olive,
lime wedge and celery stalk.
Flaming Dr. Pepper
In a tall shot glass pour:
2/3 full Amaretto (cheap stuff, it's just a shot)
1/3 full Bacardi 151
Put shot glass into a pint glass and pour beer to top of shot glass.
Light Bacardi and let it burn for 10-15 seconds.
...this next part is critical...BLOW OUT THE FIRE!
Then slam it...goooooood.
Cactus Cooler
shot glass filled with 1/2 Peach Schnapps and 1/2 Bacardi 'O'
drop in pint glass filled halfway with Redbull.
CHUG! O0
Swimming Pool
1/2 oz blue curacao
1 oz Rose's sweetened lime juice
1 1/2 oz vodka, heavily iced and strained
Lime slice (optional), for garnish
Pour curacao, lime juice, and vodka over a large handful of ice in a cocktail shaker. Shake well and strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Perch a lime slice on glass rim, if desired
*tip*
To be really inviting, a swimming pool must be crystal clear, and so must this drink. So don't use fresh lime juice or limeade, which will make a cloudy drink. Instead, use Rose's sweetened lime juice, available in many supermarkets and liquor shops
Swimming Pool
1/2 oz blue curacao
1 oz Rose's sweetened lime juice
1 1/2 oz vodka, heavily iced and strained
Lime slice (optional), for garnish
Pour curacao, lime juice, and vodka over a large handful of ice in a cocktail shaker. Shake well and strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Perch a lime slice on glass rim, if desired
*tip*
To be really inviting, a swimming pool must be crystal clear, and so must this drink. So don't use fresh lime juice or limeade, which will make a cloudy drink. Instead, use Rose's sweetened lime juice, available in many supermarkets and liquor shops
Yummo never would make it but it sure sounds good
nice....both drinks sound tasty. :P
I'm gonna make that frozen red slushie chit for my July 4th BBQ.... The one everyone stole as kids.
Okay .. this was Ma's red slushy stuff I snagged as a kid. Told her I wanted the recipe. She said "Oh so your kids can sneak it too?"
4 tea bags in 1 c. boiled water for strong tea
1 c. sugar dissolved in hot tea
2 (6 oz.) cans frozen lemonade
1 (6 oz.) can frozen orange juice
7 c. cold water
1 1/2 c. gin
Mix it all together, store in the freezer - She used to fill up a 5 gallon ice cream container with a lid.
There's a reason I don't have kids.. I have no tolerance for them.... I don't know, I just never did LIKE them. Anyway, nothing against kiddos, but a couple of years ago, we combined Ma's birthday party and a July 4th BBQ into one and she invited a coworker who brought a 9 year old little girl. By the end of the day? I wanted to DROWN this kid. She annoyed the ever lovin' hell outta me. That, plus I couldn't cuss. LMAO!
Anyway, I'm not planning on having future murdered kids. Aren't you glad?
LOL! Well, if it makes you feel better, my boss's son is ADORABLE! He's so.. I don't know. ADULTish. He often comes to the office with his dad, and he's respectful and kind. He's also funny! We have two properties, old houses actually, converted into offices. One is ours, the other we rent out to two weird psychologists. Anyhoo, the boss was at court, and the kid was with me at the office and he wanted to play football.. SO, he played football in the yard between the two houses on the property. Well, the kid throws the ball, and it lands on one of the psych patient's car windows! The window CRACKED into a million pieces... He comes to me all calm and chit and says, "Kelly, Ummmm, the ball hit a window, and it cracked a little." A LITTLE! LMAO! It's LAYING in the car's backseat! :)) Anyway, my boss jumped all over the kid, and I had to take up for him. It's not like he did it on purpose. Anyway, he's a cool kid. He's ranked number one in Florida in Tae Kwon Do or however you spell it. I like that kid. O0
If you like Blue Curacao (which I cannot stomach, but to each her/his own)...Here's a fun fourth of July Drink...
Stars and Stripes:
Pour 1 shot of chilled cherry brandy into a champagne flute.
Very Gently...pour 2 shots of chilled light cream on top.
Again...very gently...pour one shot Blue Curacao on top of that....
Its really frickin pretty...and patriotic...
I can't promise that it tastes good though.... ;)
I think I just got used to Skyy because I had so many bottles of it here...from the last time we were in San Juan...and liquor was dirt cheap. Skyy was by far the best deal of all that day...so, anyhoo...I am just used to the taste.
