Post by: krispy on May 27, 2006, 12:37:42 PM
Crunchy Kraut Dog

Thousand Island Dressing:
1/2 C. mayonnaise
2 T. chili sauce
1 T. minced onion
1 T. minced green bell pepper
1 T. minced dill pickle, sweet pickle or drained pickle relish
2 t. minced fresh parsley

Other ingredients:
3/4 C. sauerkraut
8 wieners
8 hot dog buns, preferably bakery-made
3 bacon slices, chopped and fried crisp

Prepare the dressing, combining the ingredients in a small bowl. Cover and refrigerate until needed.

Fire up the grill, bringing the temperature to high.

In a medium bowl, mix together the sauerkraut with the dressing.

Grill the wieners for about 3 to 5 minutes over high heat until deeply browned, rolling to crisp all surfaces. Toast the buns on the edge of the grill if you wish.

Toss the bacon with the sauerkraut mixture. Place the dogs on the buns and the sauerkraut over the dogs.

Serve immediately.

Serves 4 to 8.

Why don't you copy and paste it into Wordpad. That way you'll have it saved on your pc should you lose the paper. That's what I do with recipes I want to keep. ;)

Start>Programs>Accessories>Wordpad should be the last one there. You can save it in your documents. I suggest creating a folder named recipes. ;)

Your welcome. I think it makes it easier to keep them organized etc.

If you consider your recipes very important you can always burn them to a cd in case your pc crashes. ;)

There are so many ways to save them also. You can put them in the beef file, the hot dog file etc.

Makes life much easier although don't take the laptop in the kitchen. One mistake and uh-oh. :o

now that'd be real nice to file em that way in individual folders but i save so much stuff   ::) i can't take the time to go that far.  I have so many cds & lots of the old zip disks full of goodies (mostly graphics for pages & for making tubes) that i haven't even looked at in ages   :))

sorry didn't mean to change from the topic here, lol
