Hello all, I have been lurking for a while and you all seem to know your stuff when it comes to pogo so I decided to ask this question. I didn't know where to put the question so I hope this is okay. I have been getting the not enough memory error message more and more frequently. It started with addiction solitaire but now I am getting it in other games to. Has anyone else had this problem? Or better yet, does anyone know how to fix it?
Thanks! (nice site btw)
You could try turning off any unnecessary programs running in the background.
I recommend a minimum of 1GB of RAM for internet surfing and pogo.
I don't normally have anything else running when I play pogo. especially if I am running a auto.
How do you find out how much ram you have? I feel like an idiot because I don't know and I have no idea how to find out!
Thanks again.

Start>Control Panel>System
A window will open with your info. You are looking for how much RAM you have. I have 3GB on my pc.
I get this also from time to time and I know I have enough ram. I run my spyware and do a maintaince and go right back to the same game with no problems.
I would clear your temp files and make sure your Java is update.
Like homer said something might be eating up your ram ..
Some things to try don't know if they will help.
Update to the latest java - go on to the java website and download from there, don't rely on the version number in your browser.
Increase your java cache - In java control panel (in control panel), general settings, temp files, disk space there is a slider, try increasing it.
Adjust performance - control panel, system properties, advanced, performance, settings then adjust to best performance.
Clear things that start up when windows does - run, msconfig, startup, uncheck all but your antivirus and modem/router etc (this alters your windows so do with care and if you in anyway are unsure don't do!!!!!!)
Get the latest drivers for your graphics card and install.
Is your graphics card big enough to play these games? Some games require larger graphics cards?
Is your RAM large enough? Is it faulty? - I don't know how to check this someone else may.
Hope one of these suggestions work :/\

You might also want to make sure your registry is clean and tidy --- no errors. There are many free registry cleaners out there. I am using RegSeeker and after tidying up, I usually note a speed difference.

Awesome! Thanks so much! I'm also going to try a few things Pogokaz suggested. I ALWAYS close out a bunch of crap that loads on start up, like Yahoo and MSN messenger, etc. I checked my ram and it says I have 1918 mb of ram. Is that enough? Should I buy more ram?
Thanks for everyone's suggestions.

I would go into each of those programs individually and disable the auto-start. You will notice a world of difference when you start up your computer.

Forgive my computer illiteracy, but how do I disable each of them on start up? I'm really not an idiot! I promise! Just when it comes to computer related stuff. I'm amazed I can even play Pogo. LOL! ::)
Also, thank you all so much for helping me! I am so glad I stumbled upon you guys! fall13.gif

If it isn't a feature in the program you would need to know how to use msconfig in windows. If you really don't know what you are doing I wouldn't recommend this.

Ok. I will look at each program individually and see if there is an option to disable it at start up. If not, I am not going to touch it. LMAO! I know my limitations.
I adjusted the performace of my pc and also updated my java. It seems to have done the trick because I haven't got the memory error message since. I haven't tested addiction solitaire though. I'll test that one later. There are too many new badges to get this week. smileywithegg.gig

If things are working fine I wouldn't change anything else.
Ok. Thanks again everyone!

brilliant news O0
i get that every now and then, usually when there are a lot of people on at once (usually Wednesdays lol) I just restart the game and it fixes it
Greetings,
In addition to clearing your web browser's cache/history, be sure to clear the JAVA Temp files. For JAVA open the control panel and click on the JAVA icon. In the temporary internet files click on the settings. Click on the delete files and make sure both boxes are checked. You will enjoy the results.

you could also try going to the start>run or in vista go to start>start search box> type run and the run command will come up then type "msconfig" and a window will come up, go to the startup tab and see how much stuff is actually starting with windows. i keep mine at a bare minimum. and as others have said get your ram over 1gb.
I have that problem every now & then, I just close the browser, open it back up & the games work.
