Thank You MsMissy.  I played for a while and no badge popped up.  I wrote to Pogo.  We will see what they have to say.

are there any hints on winning this badge  girls18.gif  or is it just the luck of getting good cards? :"

Next stupid question is?  what constitutes a "perfect game" ??
Title: Re: golf solitaire perfect badge
Post by: FreecellFanny on April 26, 2008, 05:06:45 AM
I would imagine that you would have to clear all the cards on the board and possibly without using any of the help cards. I know in World Class Solitaire thats what a perfect game is so it's probably the same here.

When you clear all the cards from the board it tells you you won a perfect game.

I also got 5 perfect holes in one game and no badge.  At the end of each hole it said I got 25 tokes for perfect game.  I wrote Pogo and asked if I would get the badge once they got the problem fixed because I'm sure I will probably NEVER be able to do this again in a million years!!  They wrote back and said they were aware of the problem and their "engineers" (whoever they are) are "diligently" working to get this issue fixed.  Made no mention of whether or not I'd get my badge.  Yadda, yadda, yadda apologize for the inconvience.  Typical Pogo answer I suppose.  Not holding my breath, but keeping my fingers crossed that it'll show up in my badge book.

Hi everyone,

Here is the responce I got from Pogo:  Unfortunately, this badge is currently broken and will be fixed shortly. Once the badge is fixed your badge will be awarded automatically. Thanks again!

I told them in the first message I sent to them it was not working bacause no one was getting the badge. Five messages later when they said they were going to issue me the badge they figured out it was broken.  Yeah, Pogo that is what I said a week ago.  Sometimes you just have to laugh and laugh and then go on.

In the letter to the editor, pogo stated that anyone earning the perfect game badge prior to the fix will not be awarded it.

QuoteEditor: Will the ironies never cease? Unfortunately, the "Flawless Victory Badge" is broken at the moment. It will be fixed soon, but (you knew there would be a but) those who have managed to play a perfect game before then will not receive credit for that game. You'll have to wait until after the fix is released to get that badge.

Generally-- when you see a game in "sneak preview," it means that the game may have a few kinks in there somewhere. This is one of those kinks.

Greetings,
Good info. I've not gotten 5 perfect games in a row. Rank 35 out of 40 with 1200 perfect rounds.  If I get to 40...this "perfect badge" might have to be on the back burner.

Just an idea - but if you do qualify for the perfect badge maybe take a screenshot to prove it - if you have enough time and when they fix it - send the screen shot to pogo - worst they can say is 'no you'll hve to do it again'.

Just an idea.

Has anyone noticed in the last 3 or 4 days that when you go into Solitaire Golf that your stats change?  They change to the last persons that had the spot where your name is now.  We all sit and laugh about how much we do or do not have. Glitch I am sure....lol

My prayers were answered!!!
Well I got that "Flawless Victory" Badge.  I was in the Clover Fields room.  Additionally, I was playing a combination of manual and automatic.  Let me quickly explain,  I play manual until I get to the bonus rounds...It let me pick up a wild card.

Here is a list of the Courses and Pars

                               Hole 1  2  3  4  5
Clover Fields             -25  6  5  5  5  4
Fiddler's Green          -26  4  5  6  5  6
Hawaii                      -25  6  5  5  3  6
Hidden Hollow           -24  6  4  5  4  5
Iceland Dale              -23  6  4  4  5  4
Icicle Cliffs                -19  5  3  3  3  5

I incorrectly thought that Icicle Cliffs would be the easiest course...but I had no luck there.

Some things that worked for me...I got rid of the 11's and 1's and tried to leave a string of cards...so it gave me better chances to "hit" the next card.  Use the UNDO key.  Play in the regular speed rooms.  I switched rooms often...tried not to waste time if I didn't get the first room with a perfect score.

When I got to the final hole...and had 4 perfect holes in a row...Yes I did say a quick prayer...I cannot believe I asked God for help going for a POGO Badge.

Good luck

I got the badge - I played Super Speedy in a room that had maybe 4 people in it - I am rank 17 - Did it by hand and not using a "Granny" - I do not think it makes a diff if doing by hand or not - just luck of the cards

Greetings,
Finally got that Flawless Victory badge on my other account.  Was in regular speed rooms on the Icicle Cliffs course.   Last card charlie did it for me.  And I did thank God for answering my prayers.  I can't believe I've been using prayers to get badges...something just don't seem right.

I tried to adjust the clock on my computer to give me more time...no luck...it changed the display...but didn't give me more time.  My thought was to back up the time...like 30 minutes and get a bunch of wild cards.  Didn't work.  The reason I bring this up about the clocks is...some games...it does change the amount of time.

Well, I've rambled enough,
S1lent
