Title: Trojan Horse
Post by: pearlmar on September 12, 2008, 02:55:47 PM
I went to download the Mahjong Safari cheat and Avast told me it had a Trojan horse.
Tried to use my Scrabble Cheat and the same thing happened.
Need help, please.  Thanks.

I've never heard great things about it.  Must be a freebie.

What BH says about it....

If you continue to use Avast antivirus software, you will not be able to use a lot of things on the internet. It is know to be one of the WORST antivirus products on the market.

Yes, it is great that it is free. If you cannot or do not want to pay for an antivirus like Norton or McaFee, then we strongly suggest using AVG or Avira. These are free and much better than Avast.

Avast has now labeled our software as viruses. Never mind that we have been in business for 7 years and most of the software has been used by hundreds of millions of people (we get 1 million downloads a month) and that every other antivirus company has labeled it safe for years.....Avast has decided on 9/12/08 that they all have viruses.

This is completely idiotic. To REMOVE avast, here is detailed instructions on how to do so:

http://www.pchell.com/virus/uninstallavast.shtml (http://www.pchell.com/virus/uninstallavast.shtml)

To install AVG or Avira (which are free) go here:

http://www.download.com/2000-2001_4-0.html (http://www.download.com/2000-2001_4-0.html)

And you will see that AVG is the top program downloaded in the world.

I used AVG for years.  Last week it allowed Tojan horses so that I had to pay $150 for a techie to clean it up.   I wouldn't use it again.

The funniest part about it is:

"Oh yeah, we've been protecting your computer for years now and you've been using "ThunderPopper" for years.....SURPRISE we found a virus in it now. It only took us a couple years to find it. WHOOPS!"

Sure, you can trust us....

Why did it take us a couple of years to find it? Oh right, we suck. But we're free.

Free baby free.

I use Trend Micro and once in a great while it will decide that the Hog Heaven cheat is a trojan horse. That is the only program it has an issue with; and it's not all the time, just every few weeks. Go figure.  bubblegum.gif

I have TrendMicro on my XP Desktop and McAffee on my laptop and have never gotten a message warning of a virus or whatever on any BH programs.

I am a TrendMicro fan.  I never have a problem with it.  I THINK it's about $50 per year, but for that 50 you can put it on 3 computers.

I use TrendMicro and also McAfee and no viruses or anything come up on any of the BH autos I have.   The most recent update to PocketAce for Texas Holdem indicated it had malware.   I uninstalled what I had before and downloaded it and ran virus scan on it and it comes up that it has malware every single time.  Ran my virus scan on all my other BH autos and they are just fine.   I even went to all the trouble of restoring my computer and before I installed anything else like messengers etc, installed my virus protections and just downloaded PocketAce and it still came up that it had malware in it.   I sent an email to badgehelp.com and have not received a response.

Trend Micro. Not only does it NOT bog down your computer but you can have it installed on up to 3 computers at the same time for one price. It's fantastic.  tumbsup.gif

Why do you pay by the year instead of just buying the program?

You pay the renewal fee yearly. This ensures that you get all product updates and extras.

I use Trend Micro as well and apart from the fact that it occasionally decides that my Hog Heaven auto is a Trojan Horse I've had no problem with it.
