Title: BULLETIN -- MICHAEL JACKSON DEAD AT 50
Post by: swamp on June 25, 2009, 02:53:36 PM
We've just learned Michael Jackson has died. He was 50.

Michael suffered a cardiac arrest earlier this afternoon and paramedics were unable to revive him. We're told when paramedics arrived Jackson had no pulse and they never got a pulse back.

Michael is survived by three children: Michael Joseph Jackson, Jr., Paris Michael Katherine Jackson and Prince "Blanket" Michael Jackson II.

That's surprising. I was sure we would have listen to his sexcapade stories for at least another decade.

And what shocks me most is his age. I was thinking him in his 30's still. Geeez.

Rest In Peace, Michael.

May God watch over your children and family and help them through this most difficult time.

I am totally shocked by your passing, you brought so many great songs into my life and made me want to sing and dance along with you.

Of course to me Captain EO was my favorite because it was at Disneyland (actually at all Disney Parks) and I still have my Captain EO watch which included Minor Domo - one of the robots. I think the 3-D show stopped in '98 but I still remember that he had his original nose and he was black. I also remember staying home from some event because Thriller was going to premiere on MTV. But that was way back when MTV had music.

Thanks, H. That was perfect. I don't know what to say about all this. It seems like celebs have unlimited access to doctors who will give them whatever drugs they want.

I'm interested to see what they determine cause of death to officially be.

Does it seem to anyone else that "child stars" seldom seem to have a normal life?

There was some kind of memorial thing on TV for him and my husband said that it was very favorable. It amazes me because the press crucified him for the child molesting accusations, now they are practically building a shrine to him.

Loved his music, but I won't lie...I'm thrilled to know that if he was indeed guilty of molesting children (which I think he was but have no more proof than anyone else) no others will be hurt and perhaps those he damaged can find some peace knowing he is gone.

Most of those people have no intention of going. They are out of state and just want the armband as a remembrance or to sell on eBay. It means that they will have to go to a ticket outlet to get their confirmation letters and wrist band and that alone would take most of a day. There would be no way to arrange travel in that amount of time on a non-holiday week let alone a week when people travel for the 4th. Unless you have a private jet and in that case you are more than likely to get one of the 900 tickets given to the Jackson family.

I have a family member that lives close enough to Staples to have to deal with the big events all the time. He said that the police are very good about keeping non-ticketed people off the property so I think most of the non-ticketed people (which is most everyone) will be walking the streets and should be a show in itself. The state of Calif has sent out IOUs to everyone who contracts with them starting July 1 so if CA is supposed to foot the bill for this one most people better expect an IOU for payment. Sort of like when Michael was living.

I really enjoy'd this song of Michael an it's always been one of my favs
it seems sooo fitting for his passing

It was also great hearing Jermaine I think it was explain the story behind Michaels face changes
Not sure if any of you caught that or not but in all the years I looked at him an thought odd of him for his
drastic decisions an now after hearing why, it kinda makes sense. As harsh as it was
I think I understand apart of him alot more

Its funny that no matter how wonderful ur life can look an be, deep down we are all still very human
an all deal with very emotional issues
an I think Michaels childhood got the best of him an it's a shame
Anywho jus wanted to share this
I'm still playin' his music always have, at least now I'm not alone in doing it
LOL
before everyone would make funny faces
to me - he's always been the KING OF POP

It was interesting that all of his brothers are over 50 and not a grey hair among them. I know someone with lupus and they have problems on their skin and wear a type of makeup that is like theatrical coverup. I think an awful lot of people are now trying to get on the Jackson bandwagon. Lou Ferigno had said he was his trainer for the tour but he only saw him one time 3 weeks before he died. The one person I want to hear is the doctor that was with him at the time of death and he has dropped off the face of earth.

My brother passes the Staples center daily and said that today it still had people milling around. Ladies and Gentlemen, Jackson has left the building.

But we have yet to hear from his long time dentist that capped a tooth 23 years ago. Or the gardener at Neverland. We don't know what kind of mulch the gardener used. There is a whole lifetime of things yet to learn about MJ. I figure there will be at least 3 ALL MICHAEL ALL THE TIME cable channels to start in Sept.

A congresswoman is trying to push a resolution through Congress proclaiming Jackson a humanitarian etc. Doesn't Congress have more important things to deal with?

Al Sharpton is pushing for a MJ stamp as well.

The man was an amazing entertainer. He is not this "God" they are trying to portray him as.

The media are a bunch of publicity whores. Right now they are getting the best exposure by covering the "angelic angle" but I can guarantee, before the year is out they will have turned around and will start the smear campaign...anything to stretch out the payday. Right now, the only thing they worship more than MJ is the almighty dollar.

The Elvis stamp is the highest volumn stamp ever sold and remember we got to vote on which pics would be used. It is my understanding that you must be dead 7 years before given consideration for USPS stamps. Presidents can be commerated on their birthday after death. I am surprised Al hasn't yet gone to the pope about getting MJ claimed as Saint.

I don't have an issue with them wanting a stamp for him. Based on his musical talents alone he is deserving of one. If the rule is 7 years then Al will have to wait.

BTW, Pelosi just shot down the Jackson resolution.

I believe the rule is a ten year wait after the date of death before a stamp can come out.  If Bob Hope had to wait ten years, so can Michael (who deserves one, too).  Shut up, Al Sharpton.  That man irks me like no other.

In 1985 Ebony Magazine had an article about what some stars would look like in the year 2000. This one of MJ really was interesting because it showed him as being a black man and not still wearing 1980s clothing. They couldn't have been more wrong. Well, that jacket does sort of look Miami Vice.

I agree! i loved Mj since i was 12 and I'm now 39. he is one of the most misunderstood people there ever was. People believe the news stories and don't do real research. Even the so called "#1 news stations" are quoting tabloids! And people believe it! It's all garbage! It distubs me that people are still makinf fun of him. THE MAN IS DEAD!!!!!!!!!!! Let him rest in peace. There's so much about him that people don't know. the abuse of his father that lead to his behavior. His multiple diseases, lupos and vitiligo. i mean if you had a brother or sister that was a little different, would you still want people mocking them after the are DEAD!!! i don't think so! Let it go and let him rest in peace! I will adore him forever and always be a fan. RIP MJ  crying10.gif

You're right, mjmusiclover. Often times we judge without knowing all the facts. I think it's just human nature to do so. I think there was enough information out there to show that he was abused, but being abused does not justify or explain away making bad choices.

There are any number of people here on this forum alone who have suffered abuse of one form or another and do their best to be good people and live productive lives.

I'm thankful for my belief in a God who knows exactly what is in our hearts, and who knows if we are using the abuse we received as a free pass to be a$$holes ourselves.

We will never know the truths or falsehoods surrounding MJ, but I trust in God to be a fair and loving judge.

HOUSTON (Reuters) - Pop star Michael Jackson's death was caused by lethal levels of the powerful anesthetic propofol, according to findings by the Los Angeles chief medical examiner unsealed in court documents in Houston on Monday.

Dr. Dombrowski said the drug is so powerful that it is critical to have someone in attendance who has the ability to rescue you should your breathing cease or some other critical failure occur, which is why the drug is only used in operating rooms and in doctor's offices where providers are on hand to support patients and intervene should something go wrong. "It is never used outside a medical setting during a procedure," he said. "And it is never used as a sleeping aid. I've never heard of that in my 16 years of practice."

A source told the site that the drug is so inappropriate for home use that if a doctor supplied it for Jackson or helped inject him with it and it caused his death, he or she could be prosecuted for manslaughter.

I am wondering why this information came from Houston and not L.A. My son is a Medical Examiner in the state of CA and even they don't get why the news came out from a completely different state.

Isn't it because the family hired this ME? So they could really hire anyone they wanted, right?

This all is coming out of the same place that the doctor had a business before he worked for MJ and I think if this was the L.A. Coroners office this statement would not have come out just on paper. It would have been done with cameras in front of North Mission Rd and some sort of statement about who and what. Just seems like someone put the info out without the usual procedures.

Alot of people are abused, misunderstood,etc....he was a musical genius and he made very poor decisions about his health and welfare.  I am not a cold hearted person, but I am in the medical profession and have seen what drugs (prescription and illegal) do to people when they are misused.  Anytime you have a drug cocktail consisting of the drugs they found in his body from toxicology reports, it is surely going to do considerable damage internally leading to multi organ failure.  Most of the time, it is the heart that gives out.  But you have to realize that some drugs metabolize through the liver (like alcohol, for example).  When you abuse alcohol over time, eventually you end up with diseases like cirrhosis, liver failure and eventually death of the organ.

Here are some other names recently affected by drug cocktails that ended up dying:  Heath Ledger, Anna Nicole Smith, Billy Mays....just to name a few.

I don't feel sorry for these people as they were the ones who made the conscious decision to allow these poisons into their body.  Whether it was for chronic pain from illnesses or stress and anxiety from having a demanding schedule, it is still a poor choice made on his/her part.

Maybe it was wrong to mock and make fun of his death.....but we all have our ways of coping with the world's tragedies.

hocky, all of those including MJ were parents. That alone should be making a difference in how they take care of the only body we get on this planet.

The coverage is not dead and probably won't be for a long time. I turned to the tvguide channel yesterday to see what games were on and they were showing a made for tv film "Man In The Mirror" above the channel guide.

My dad is at the end of his rope with all the coverage interupting whatever it is he watches. He said "I'm so pissed if the bastard wasn't already dead, I'd shoot him."

But then I thought, wouldn't that just start the whole, viscious cycle of unending coverage all over again?   undecided.gif

But at least then he wouldn't have gone out as a disappointing parent. I am good on forgiveness unless it affects children and then I am brutal.

I keep hoping, because I'll tell you what... I miss all that coverage his death got. Imagine what coverage we'd get when it comes out he's alive!  I'll be burning up my DVR!
