Title: Pogo forum
Post by: AustinBennett on February 12, 2010, 08:09:53 AM
Perhaps this has been discussed here before . For the first time today I decided to check out the pogo forum and was somewhat shocked at what was being posted by some of the most juvenile characters I've ever heard of . I stumbled across a thread dedicated solely to cheaters where these crybabys go so far as to list the screen names of suspected cheaters . Thought maybe some of you may want to check it out , see if your name is posted on the wall . Quite surprised pogo would allow such garbage . There are several other topics discussed there , but all seems to stem from a common theme , no-life individuals with nothing better to do than cry about almost anything .

Click on the " Pogo News " tab and it's listed at the bottom of the news section on left side of page . The cheaters were listed under the " recent post " this morning , but I don't see it now . You may have to navigate through the forum to find it , unless pogo removed it as they should have .

The pogo forum can kiss my big yellow  ass.gif

I'm sure if there's a list my name is on it and I really don't care. As long as I keep myself out of trouble and continue spending $500/year pogo is never going to ban me.

To all the haters out there this one's for you... (https://www.getsmile.com/emoticons/energizer-smileys-51935/****3.gif)

I hope my two screen names are plastered on that wall!!! I am proud to be a cheater in Pogo and have thousands of badges to prove it. I am proud to double-browse and help other people in here with their challenges.

My favorite new hobby in Pogo is to cheat so well that no one knows I am cheating. For example, the Boggle Bash thread. Funny how no one thinks the "dummy" that only gets 10-20 words per round is a "cheater".  The person that spells "dog", "get", "put" is not considered a cheater. But, since I have otherwise ranked out in the game, I just need to earn the Panic Flip. Panic Flips come on a regular schedule, without regard to how many words you find per round.

Funnily enough, the most complaining I ever got about "cheating" was in Popfu, which I finished in the early days without cheating. I am really good at Popfu, so I had a really, really long streak of victories. I probably had 1,200 straight wins and lost my streak during a hurricane when I lost power while playing. Now that I use a cheat program, the cheat sometimes loses a game or I lose the connection. My stats are a mess and if people could "see" them, they would not think I cheated at that game. Funny how people in Pogo "think" they know something about cheating and how it works. tumbsup.gif

I knew what you were saying Homer . Just thought I'd give folks here a heads-up on something they may not have been aware of . I never had paid attention to their forum and frankly continue to care less . I would imagine most of the people that are angered by cheaters are those that would cheat themselves , but are too ignorant to figure out how . The average player simply plays his game , and isn't preoccupied with what others are doing .

It's cool. We are used to these kind of things. There have been several "lists" over the years. We get a kick out of hearing about them.

Come on Homer the breaking water was too funny.  I went to the forum and was suprised at what I found.  I went back many many pages and read the ones regarding cheaters, much to my suprise all the complainers were told off by the responders. They pretty much said you cant tell if someone is cheating(except for Boggle and even I will agre there some of those scores were humanly impossible but the auto has been refined to changed that) some people just play a game well. Also most of them stated they had been accused of cheating numerous times.  The one thing I didnt understand and I hope somebody here can explain it is at least twice different people complained about cheaters freezing their screen and taking their tokens.  I didnt know we had that ability.

I think the game freezes for whatever reason and causes them to leave a room and lose the tokens they have bet. I don't believe anyone has the ability to "freeze" a game.

I sure do not have that ability. Homer can correct me if I am wrong, but that would be criminal hacking. I think Pogo would address that problem. tumbsup.gif

I would think so. Pogo certainly wouldn't take hacking lightly. To hack a game to win tokens is senseless when you can get all you want by purchasing an auto for $11

I guess the haters think that "Free jedi mind powers" come with the purchase of every auto....therefore not only winning the game but stealing the tokens from everyone else and locking up their systems.  I guess i'm not using mine right since all I do is simply win the game.

I need to vent.

About 15 minutes ago...I was in a game room playing with my planes, and all of a sudden I saw someone post that they were an Avon representative and just pretty much advertising. I wasn't cheating, so I spoke up and said, " I'm an Avon rep, and technically you're not supposed to advertise in a pogo chat room. With me being an Avon rep myself, let her know that not representing your self as an Avon Independent Representative was against Avon policy. You're supposed to label yourself as an Independent Representative always always, no matter what. I got jumped by the whole dam room. They asked why I was criticizing her, she is only trying to make a living." Ok, that's fine, but if you want to advertise, go advertise on Craigslist or merchant circle. Why go against Pogo's TOS and risk your pogo account? That's just straight up stupid. I ended up just leaving the game, because I was being jumped by EVERYONE.

I knew someone else had this problem also, but I can't remember who. I also reported her for getting on my nerves.  swear2.gif

Post by: lilsh0rtii445 on February 18, 2010, 07:27:55 PM
Actually, it's not stupid...because she put her website/email...everything out in the open. that is advertising. I did not. all i said was that i'm an avon rep also. i didn't label my website/email out in the open.

Question....can you lose your Pogo account if you use these "cheats"??? .....can they tell you are using them?
Title: Re: Pogo forum
Post by: Homer on February 19, 2010, 05:56:56 PM
They can tell if you use cheats but they don't ban people for it anymore as long as you don't talk about it in chat or try to claim a cash/merchandise prize.

The general rules for cheating are:

1. Never claim any cash or merchandise prizes. Wallpapers and screensavers are ok.
2. Don't mention cheats in pogo chat. In fact most of us totally ignore chat period. If you don't say anything you can't get in trouble.

If you follow those two rules you really have nothing to worry about

Thanks for the response......next question, what is the point of playing Pogo with cheats if you do not "gain" anything from it?  I guess what I am saying is....I am not gaining any pleasure out of playing the game itself since the "cheat" is playing it for me..........so if I can't claim any prizes other than pogo coins which are really useless....what am I playing for?  Perhaps I am missing something I should know. Just curious and also on the fence as to if playing with a cheat is worth giving up any prize I might down the road win..............if that is even possible with Pogo.

We use the cheats because it's all about the badges. If not for cheats you could spend two or more lifetimes trying to get all the badges manually. There are a few badges that I believe are close to impossible to get manually. The odds of you actually winning a cash prize are so incredibly bad. You are more likely to get hit by a car than win a pogo jackpot. Our website has been around for 6+ years and we have close to 40,000 members and I can count on one hand the number of people who have actually won jackpots.

Homer

The proper response to the list of questions is answered in my house this way.

I cheat at Pogo because I can. I cheat because I have been a member for nearly 8 years and I do not have time for all the challenges and ranks. I like looking at my badge album and the things I have been able to accomplish with the cheat programs. I can afford Pogo, cheat programs and I pay top dollar for every premium/mix challenge.

Mostly, I cheat at Pogo because it is a healthy outlet. I like watching the cheat program play the various games. So do my boys. It is nice to know the cheat programs are working away on the next goal.

I do not seek approval for my actions and my likes. I cheat at Pogo because it is a healthy habit that does not cost a lot of money. I used to play Pogo when I was getting divorced. Now, I am happily married to a woman that understands Pogo and encourages me to use cheat programs so I can spend time with her. tumbsup.gif

Ha ha...thank you all for all the reason why you "cheat"...  tumbsup.gif

I've been playing Pogo for years now and I know what you mean about the chances of winning anything. That said, if you happen to win something do you "just not claim it"?  I don't want to lose my account due to using a cheat so I guess what I asking is how do they find out you are using one.....and what happens if you play something "without using the cheat" and you win something but you've used cheats in other games.....do you still not claim the prize and are you still not qualified?  There are some games I like to play just to play for fun so I don't need to use a cheat. Thanks all for your all your help.

Don't claim the prize. It doesn't matter if you were cheating at the time or not. If you used cheats even once on your account they will know and deny your claim anyway

I've never won anything other than wallpaper and screensavers, been playing since day one. I did find something interesting, after browsing through the forum this morning under a thread regarding cheaters ( there were like 8 pages of comments ) what I gather is that the crybabies are more frustrated with those that cheat in word games far more than anywhere else. Perhaps avoiding these would minimize getting caught although as previously stated, just keeping quiet and blocking your profile should cover your butt. I should note that a pogo administrator posted a comment that they don't have nearly the resources needed to follow up on every complaint, as some of these crybabies file multiple complaints almost on a daily basis. These crybabies are probably in fact hurting their cause and helping us. This makes sense, years ago in pogo's infantsy, complaints were followed up on almost immediately and accounts cancelled regularly. I would imagine these days their concern would be more involving complaints regarding real threats, stalking, criminal behavior, ect. and much less involving cheaters after badges and tokens. It would really surprise me, given their resources to police, and the sheer population they've grown to, that they give a rats ass who cheats. Just don't take their money and your safe to go. Just an observation of mine, didn't mean to write a novel.

Do not worry about a novel. Also, Pogo figured out that cheaters in general buy more premium albums and mix badges. Why would they mess with a high-paying customer group that does not tie up admin resources? tumbsup.gif
