this a shared computer. I share it with my parents and my little brother so there is no way I could run 4 days straight :-\

Running the program for 4 days straight is a sure way to get your pogo account blocked. I don't recommend it.

i would recommand at leats 5-12hrs

BB is a very potent program I don't recommend more than a couple hours a day. Unless of course you want your account banned.
Title: Re:had a great run with bb7
Post by: kotraquin on February 15, 2004, 04:54:34 PM
what about 1 day on 6 days off? with bb7
so even if you get 100,000 tokens spread across 7 days it looks more convincing
Title: Re:had a great run with bb7
Post by: Homer on February 15, 2004, 05:25:05 PM
Yes 100,000 over 7 days is less obvious.

If you ran it the way a_playa has mentioned you would have approximtely 4 million tokens in 4 days. Now what do you think will happen when pogo finds out?

Banned obviously but why don't they ban by IP addys i thought everyone had a unique one
Title: Re:had a great run with bb7

Don't know. Obviously if you have a club account they won't ban your ip address because they want you to resubscribe.

pays twice, Yikes!
Title: Re:had a great run with bb7
Post by: fatkid on February 15, 2004, 08:31:29 PM
Because IP's are dynamic... Most of the times when you reboot your computer (with broadband 'net) you are assigned a new IP addy... With dial-up its a new addy everytime you dial in... You can still be tracked down with that addy (by going to your ISP and getting the info from them) but if you ban a single IP you could wind up banning lots of people you don't really want to ban...

wow thats confusing and bad
Title: Re:had a great run with bb7

my  IP always seems to be the same everytime i see it
Title: Re:had a great run with bb7
Post by: admin on February 16, 2004, 03:47:29 PM
Some people have static IP's that always stay the same, and others have ones that change slightly. (Usually only the last two or three digits.) It depends on your ISP. (Internet Service Provider) Even if your IP changes doesn't mean it can't be banned just by using a simple IP range to ban, but a place like pogo would want to avoid that as it may unintentionally ban some people.

ip ranges? like from 100-200
xxx.xxx.xxx.100 - xxx.xxx.xxx.200?
Title: Re:had a great run with bb7
Post by: admin on February 16, 2004, 03:55:05 PM
Yes, so even if you IP changes, it dosen't change beyond your ISP's IP range. But like fatkid said earlier, when you ban ranges, espesically when you have hudreds of thousands of users like pogo, you are going to run into trouble with too many people being banned.

Why?

Can't you get a pogo account?
Title: Re:had a great run with bb7
Post by: badcrazygirl on February 16, 2004, 05:28:01 PM
you prob can just dont use the same email address that u used for ure other pogo accounts cuz i had the same email in about all my accounts and all my sn's got banned at the same time because of that one email account.

For some cool info on IPs check out
http://www.ipindex.de/ (http://www.ipindex.de/)
It actually tells you what companies own what IP ranges and what not... Like for my school, BYU, owns all IP's in the range 128.187.xxx.xxx
So any IP that falls in the range of 128.187.0.0 - 128.187.255.255 is an IP that belongs to my university...  That allows my university to have somewhere in the neighborhood of 65025 valid IPs at any given time...  Most ISP own HUGE numbers of ranges, and you can check on that page as to where you fall.. Most of the time the first two sets of numbers stay the same (128.187.xxx.xxx)... Then the next set of numbers are usually the geographic location of your computer (though not an absolute science certain ranges are used for certain areas in the country... Like at my school all IPs that are in 128.187.35.xxx-128.187.39.xxx are computers that are in the library...)  Finally the last number is the unique identifier for that specific computer...

Just a quick overview for ya' Tracy...

You go to BYU! Do they know about your activities. I thought they frowned upon that stuff. :P
Title: Re:had a great run with bb7

And what activities would those be John? LOL...
No I sure hope they don't know... I've been in trouble with the University like 5 times now... Been on academic probation for like 14 months and going...  And I have a 3.7 gpa!!!  All infractions were, um, not grade or school related... ;)  Guess I just have too much party for this dang school... Or an uncany desire for **** :-\ ...  lol... Whatever it is, if I can make it to graduation I'm gonna be so proud of myself... Then it comes time to get all my peircings done up again, and get all the wonderfull tatoos I've been dreaming about... This school is hard-core about junk like that too...

Somehow I'm not surprised. LOL :P

How long to go before graduation?
Title: Re:had a great run with bb7
Post by: badcrazygirl on February 16, 2004, 07:18:46 PM
i'll be graduating high school in 2 years if anyone cares lol
Title: Re:had a great run with bb7
Post by: fatkid on February 16, 2004, 07:29:43 PM
Well I'm majoring in CE (Computer Engineering) and so it's like the second largest (or 3rd) major in the school... So I'm on like a 6 year plan... Still got 4 more ahead of me... Though it may be longer because 4 years includes doing Spring and Summer semesters during all 4 years... But next year I think I'm going to go for a big summer break to Spain... Go hit up Ibiza, Amsterdam, Nice, Cannes... All the big party towns... Go see some DJs I love and in general just go to play in Europe for a summer...  And who knows what can happen there... I may wind up in some kind of drug-induced coma and never return  ;)

So Girl... Any ideas for where you're gonna head off to college?

AP? what does AP mean anyway and whats it for?
Title: Re:had a great run with bb7
Post by: JeffCoKid on February 16, 2004, 08:59:12 PM
Advanced Placement and usually it is concurrent enrollment and you can test out which a test these days is $82.... and when ya test out ya get more college credit... at least thats how it is here.

Next year, I will enroll in my 5th AP class.

well gl jeff have fun with the class lol
Title: Re:had a great run with bb7
Post by: fatkid on February 17, 2004, 01:29:33 AM
for me it was like $80 a class for the AP tests... 7 AP classes for a total of 27 credit hours...  So it was just under a full semester which would cost me $1500...
7AP classes @ $80 = $560 = $20.75 a credit hour
Semester @ School @ $1500 = $150 a credit hour
At other schools tuition can be as high as $40-50k a semester... So that can make each hour worth $4000-5k...
AP is totally worth it...
