... not a mediocre one, not one that will do in a pinch, I mean fabulous, spectacular, you'd pass up sex to eat it Mac and Cheese Recipe.  It needs to be creamy, cheesy, baked and topped with tons of melted bubbly cheese.  Anyone got such a recipe?

I don't have time to try all those!  LOL  I want to do something different for the family Christmas get together.... I want everyone to bring a traditional comfort food.  And because I'm so Mac and Cheese picky, I want to make it.

Here's one that I make at holidays

It's creamy macaroni and cheese recipe, made with Cheddar cheese sauce, cooked macaroni, and seasonings. Top this with buttered bread crumbs, if you wish.

INGREDIENTS:
5 cups cooked macaroni (8 ounces raw)
4 tablespoons butter
4 tablespoons flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/8 pepper, or to taste
2 cups milk
3/4 cup shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
paprika, optional

PREPARATION:
In a saucepan, melt butter over medium-low heat. Stir flour into the butter until smooth and bubbly. Stir in salt. Gradually add milk, stirring constantly. continue to cook, stirring constantly, until thickened.

Add cheese and continue to cook and stir until melted. In an 8x10-inch baking dish, alternate layers of macaroni and cheese sauce. Sprinkle with paprika, if desired. Bake in a preheated 350° oven for 20 minutes, or until hot and bubbly.

Serves 6.  !@! and then I go  ++

What's wrong with Velveeta Shells and Cheese?

In my oh, so humble opinion, there's nothing RIGHT about Velveeta.  I think Velveeta was a NASA experiment gone bad.

2 cups uncooked elbow macaroni (an 8-ounce box isn't quite 2 cups)
4 tablespoons (1/2 stuck) butter, cut into pieces

1/2 cup sour cream
1 (10 3/4-ounce) can condensed Cheddar cheese soup

This is very good!!!! I forgot all about this one.

Tonight I made this one -  pretty tastey.  I think it could use a teaspoon or 2 of pepper.

1 lb bag of noodles, cooked
1 stick of butter ( Paula Deen would be proud )
4 C milk
4 T flour
1 t salt
4 C shredded Cheese ( Cheddar or blend )
6 oz Cream cheese, cubed

Heat oven to 350°F. Cook macaroni according to package directions. Drain.

Meanwhile, melt butter in 3-quart saucepan until sizzling; stir in flour. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until smooth and bubbly (1 minute). Add milk and salt. Continue cooking, stirring occasionally, until sauce is thickened (5 to 7 minutes).

Transfer milk mix to large pot or bowl ( I used the pot I cooked the noodles in ) Stir in cooked macaroni and cheeses. Spoon into ungreased 2-quart casserole.

Bake 25-35 minutes.  Longer if you want it less saucey.

Thanks for posting the Paula Deen recipe. Her boys made it on GMA before Christmas and when they finished Mama Deen called on the phone. Her boys had said to add extra cheese. Paula said over the air she did not want her name on it until extra cheese was added. AS I said thanks for posting it I wanted to try it for New Years lunch

All of these look great!  Thanks so much everyone for posting them!!!
