Out Now: New Menu Bar in HTML5 Games

If you swing by your favorite HTML5-based game, you may notice something new. We added a quick-and-easy Menu Bar to the right side of the screen. You can press the three parallel lines at the top to expand the Menu, or simply use the icons in the minimized version.

Here's an example of what you'll now see in the HTML-5 games:

The new Menu Bar lets you:

- Enter/exit Full Screen Mode in a pinch
- Return to your game
- View your Challenge progress or activate new ones
- View your in-game stats
- Mute/unmute audio

Now you can adjust things on the fly without interrupting your game, rather than navigating to separate menus.

If it were up to me, I would have put the menu bar on the bottom of the game screen - and have the icons float bottom-right. Just like the icons by the clock in Windows.

Having the bar on the right side like that seems to attract my attention away from the game.

You may be right but I've learned to ignore the chat and whatever is going on there on the right so I probably will acclimate to this, too.

In time I'm sure I will acclimate to it as well, but it would be easier for me to ignore it if the bar was on the bottom like this :

or like this :

True, it's more like the taskbar.
