Pogo has removed the following games this morning. No official word yet why they did this, but it appears to be intended.

Light & Fun Games :
Freecell Solitaire, Jigsaw, Klondike Solitaire, Mahjongg Dark Dimensions, Pyramid Solitaire, Score, Spider Solitaire, Sudoku and Word Search.

Also removed were :
Match & Merge, Space Hunt, Sparks and Tumble Tiles

Check your badge albums as players have reported they have been auto-awarded purchased but uncompleted badges.

Interesting.

I can confirm this as I had badges that were not done and they have been rewarded.

Service Update - Arkadium Games

Hello Pogo players,

We wanted to let you know that, unfortunately, as of today you will no longer be able to play the following Flash games on Pogo.com:

- Freecell Solitaire
- Jigsaw
- Klondike Solitaire
- Mahjong Dark Dimensions
- Match & Merge
- Pyramid Solitaire
- Score
- Space Hunt
- Sparks
- Spider Solitaire
- Sudoku
- Tumble Tiles
- Word Search

These Flash games were previously available on EA through an agreement with Arkadium Games, but this agreement has now expired.

Any Badges purchased for the games listed above will be auto-awarded to your account by Monday, November 19th and will remain in your Badge Albums.

While EA no longer has the license for the games listed above, please know we are working with the developer to secure new H5 titles and we continue to convert our existing Flash titles to H5 titles on Pogo.

Thank you for your understanding.

I liked FreeCell and, occasionally, Sudoku.  I wonder why they didn't renew.

The same thing happened with Hasbro. Maybe they'll end up renewing after a couple of weeks?

True, it may still emerge.

Whatever the reason, it's all about the money.

Mayhem

True, but how popular were the "light & fun" games? I don't remember seeing any more than double digits at any given time.

Perhaps that's the reason why they let the agreement expire?

If not enough people are playing the games and it's costing more than it's worth for the rights to the game, Pogo might decide to invest in something different.

If I remember correctly, those game are easy to play and win without buying gems.  Maybe that was a factor.  Those in game Power Up purchases would help offset the cost that pogo paid to the producers of the games.

Hi,
Is "Freecell Solitaire" the same as "Payday Freecell Solitaire"?

Thanks
